In my brief time as a stylist I have not yet had the opportunity to work with a bride for her wedding day look. I do hope someday I will have the privilege of helping a bride select the perfect gown, heels and accessories for her special day. I feel most of the attention is focused on the gown, but one of my favorite parts of bridal styling is selecting the perfect pair of heels to compliment the gown.
Here are some of my favorite bridal heels:
Add a pop of pink to your bridal look!
…or maybe a bit of sparkle?
And for those high heel challenged ladies there are plenty of beautiful flats, skimmers and sandals out there too!
I am a huge Kylie Minogue fan, I’m going to date myself a bit and acknowledge that I’ve been a Kylie Fan as a teenager in the late 80’s. Kylie experienced a brief stint of success in the US with her remake of “Locomotion”, but it was her steady stream of dance music hits during the 90’s and early 2000’s that cemented her as a pop icon in Europe, Asia and her homeland of Australia. Kylie seems to be breaking in the US again with her latest album Kiss Me Once. A Blu-Ray Concert film “Kiss Me Once Live at SSE Hydro Arena hits the shelves on March 31st.
Kerry Washington looked absolutely radiant at the GLAAD Awards on March 21st. She wore a Hellessy Fall 2015 gown. The beautiful burgundy and purple color-blocked gown featured a deep plunge bodice and pleated skirt. Kerry chose a more voluminous hairstyle for the event and her makeup was flawless! Kerry is quickly becoming one of my favorite style icons. She always seems to get it right!
Emmy Rossum wearing Michael Kors Spring 2014. I actually love the nutmeg hues of the skirt and sweater and how she continued that color scheme with her Tory Burch bucket bag. Her hair and makeup were absolute perfection. My only critique…if any with this look are the sandals, they just seemed a bit heavy? I would have preferred a more delicate sandal or white pumps to compliment the very soft and feminine look.
I’m quite avid reader and being a fashion & style junkie that I am I love reading about the subject. I’m always eager to learn as much as I can about fashion design and styling. I subscribe to all of the major fashion magazines and usually read them cover to cover every month. I’m also building my collection of books on the subject. Chic-tionary by Stephanie Simons is a must have for every fashionista! This little book is full of hilarious fashion ‘faux-cabulary’ and beautiful illustrations from Malia Carter. Pick it up immediately!
I absolutely adore Reese’s street style. Here she is doing a bit of shopping in Beverly Hills wearing a gingham skirt, white top and denim jacket. She accessorized her look with Tory Burch “Bleeker” strappy sandals and ivory leather Satchel 12 from The Row.
