“Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” – Oscar Wilde
This quote by Oscar Wilde always makes me laugh, probably because its so true! Two times a year for nearly a month at a time my life becomes consumed by fashion. First we have New York Fashion Week kicking things off followed by London, Milan and Paris. As you can probably tell by reading my blog I’m not much of a sports enthusiast so fashion month is kind of like the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four and World Series all rolled into one. I always read stories about The Final Four and how employers figure they lose productivity because everyone is streaming games on their computer or phone and checking their brackets. For me its all about fashion week. I wonder if there are any studies to see how productive we fashionistas are this time of year?
I’ll save the in depth fashion analysis to the professional media, but I’ll still point out a few of my favorite collections and obvious trends I see for Fall 2016.
