Tales Of A Stylist

So recently I had the privilege of shopping with a new client. As I always do we meet up at their home and do a “closet organization”. This process consists of going through their closet and seeing what key pieces she already has in her wardrobe and putting together outfits for work, weekends or special occasions. I can tell you from past experiences I usually surprise a client with the number of outfits already in their closet by mixing and matching various tops, skirts or pants and changing up the accessories. The next step is to make note of what she may be lacking. In her case it was a nude shoe. She had variety of black pumps, peep toes, sandals and flats…but not one nude shoe in her collection!

When I inquired about the lack of a neutral pump she thought that beige or tan shoes were kinda boring and she prefered classic black or bright colors with her looks. While I agree every girl needs a pair of classic black pumps in her closet the number two essential shoe should be a nude pump. I explained that nude shoes are a perfect neutral and actually transcend seasons. Visually they also will lengthen her leg (what girl doesn’t want that right??)

So for her fist pair of nude pumps she asked for something work appropriate with a modest heel…so our adventure begins!

We started at Saks Off Fifth, moved on to Macy’s and then finally to Nordstrom where we found these gorgeous Tory Burch “Raleigh” Pumps.CiGIcqxXIAI6jhp

This elegant block heel pump in a patent nude is going to be a great work shoe for her. It looks fabulous with skirts or pants and she also said they are super comfy!

Do you have nude shoes in your closet?
